Welcome to our newest feature, "Meet our Team!"

Today, we're excited to introduce John, Vice President and Director of Sales at Wacebo USA. With a long-standing career in technology, John has brought his passion for innovation and education to Wacebo, where he leads the U.S. division with energy and determination.

In this interview, John shares his professional journey, the daily challenges he faces, and the vision that drives Wacebo's work in the United States of America.

Let’s start with yourself: describe yourself in three words.
Honest, reliable, fun.

What is your role at Wacebo and what do you do?
I’ve been passionate about technology for most of my life, and today I serve as Vice President and Director of Sales for Wacebo USA, based in New York.

How did you arrive in the EdTech sector? Was it a conscious choice or a discovery along the way?
It was more of a discovery. Through my professional network, I connected with several people working in EdTech, and I became intrigued by the idea of using technology to improve learning in the classroom. That curiosity quickly developed into a real passion.

What made you want to join Wacebo?
From the beginning, I was impressed by Wacebo’s spirit of innovation and the originality of its solutions. More importantly, it felt like a company genuinely focused on making a difference in education.

What aspect of your job are you most passionate about?
Without a doubt, I love seeing educators confidently embrace our technology. Even more rewarding is watching students benefit from it - learning, engaging, and growing through tools that truly support their experience.

What motivates you every day in your work?
For me, it’s about learning something new. Every day brings a fresh conversation, a new challenge, and the chance to make an impact.

What are the biggest challenges you face in your daily work?
One of the main challenges is getting forward-thinking technology directors to discover us and be open to trying something different in their classrooms. Building trust and demonstrating real value takes time and consistency.

How has the EdTech world evolved in recent years, in your opinion?
In the wake of COVID, schools have been working hard to catch up. The pandemic accelerated the adoption of technology, and now there’s a clear need to strike a sustainable balance, one that genuinely supports both teaching and learning.

What is the most frequent request you receive from schools and retailers?
The question I hear most often is: “Can my teachers use this without extensive training?” That’s their top concern - and rightly so.

What are the main needs of schools today when it comes to education and technology?
At the core, schools are looking for seamless, collaborative environments, spaces where teachers and students can interact freely, without technological barriers slowing them down.

How do you help schools choose the right solution for their needs?
It all starts with listening. Asking the right questions and taking the time to understand their challenges allows us to offer the most effective, customized solution.

Which Wacebo product would you recommend to every school without hesitation? Why?
I’d recommend our Google EDLA interactive panels (DabliuTouch) and the Dabliu Pen +. They’re intuitive, powerful, and genuinely transform how teachers and students interact with content.

How are Wacebo products changing the way we teach and learn?
By bringing successful EdTech solutions into American classrooms, we make it easier for schools to adopt what’s already been proven effective in other education systems.

What technologies do you think we’ll see more of in schools in the coming years?
I believe immersive tools, like virtual reality, will become increasingly common. They’re still emerging, but their potential to reshape how students explore and engage with content is huge.

How do you imagine education 10 years from now?
Honestly, even predicting 10 months ahead is challenging! But I’m confident education will continue evolving rapidly, and I’m excited to help shape that transformation.

If you weren’t working in EdTech, what sector would you like to be in?
Most likely digital marketing or e-commerce, industries that are just as dynamic and innovation-driven.

What advice would you give to someone entering the EdTech world?
Be responsive. Answer your phone. Reply to every email. And follow every opportunity through to its logical conclusion. That’s how you build trust and momentum.

Is there a message you’d like to leave for schools and retailers who don’t yet know Wacebo?
Our success doesn’t come from telling schools what they need - it comes from asking what they want. While many companies focus solely on panels, we look at the entire classroom ecosystem. Our goal is to improve the learning environment for everyone involved.
